The expansion and renovation of the LEINWC in 2020 has been a huge success and our admission rates have increased every year. With this incredible growth, we find we have two projects totally $70,000 that urgently need to be addressed. First, our front and side porches are deteriorating, and we need to replace them ASAP to maintain safe entry for visitors and staff. Our front porch is especially important with the handicap accessible ramp that ensures safe access for all. The other project is to replace and expand our parking lot. While we don’t have a lot of space to make it bigger, we plan to add several spots for golf carts and remove the grassy area in the front so the tour trains can pull in easier. This will enhance the safety of visitors getting on and off the tour trains while also freeing up space for parking. We plan to install We plan to install a permeable surface for the new parking lot, which is a much more sustainable option that aids in storm water management.
